CBD Massage
What is a CBD Massage?
A CBD infused massage oil absorbs through the skin and muscle tissue but does not enter the bloodstream, thus keeping pain relieving affects localized to direct area of application.
Affects of the CBD oil will last about 5-6 hours in the skin/muscles and will absorb to the touch within about 30 minutes max. As the topical CBD enters through the skin, it takes advantage of the high concentration of cannabinoid receptors in the skin and interacts with our bodies natural cannabinoids. These cannabinoids we produce are responsible for maintaining homeostasis across many bodily functions, including pain management.
If you are recovering and doing physical therapy or having to work muscles again that are needing to gain strength back or recover from a surgery, CBD is perfect to help with the reduction of inflammation that causes pain during this process, it can also help with the recovery of those muscles as you continue to make them stronger again.
What is CBD?
Cannabis has been used to treat pain since 2900 B.C. with use originating in Chinese medicine. Researchers believe that components like CBD may be responsible for these effects.
The endocannabinoid system is involved in regulating functions like pain sensation. The body produces neurotransmitters called endocannabinoids that bind to cannabinoid receptors.
It is quite possibly the most important physiological system in establishing and maintaining our health. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has stated that the endocananabinoid system “may have therapeutic potential in almost all conditions affecting humans”.
