FAQs
What kind of massage should I get?
If you are unsure of what type of massage you want or need, please feel free to simply book an introductory massage appointment and we can consult on what would be best suited for you at that time.
Is there any paperwork or medical information i’ll need to fill out when I arrive?
Yes, there will be a medical intake form you will need to fill out the first time you have a service with me that should take 5-10 minutes to fill out. This form will help me asses your needs for the service, as well as any possible contraindications for massage based on any surgeries, injuries or medications you may be on that could do you harm if you have a certain type of service.
Also, this paperwork will have the legal written consent I need to give you a massage. Once the paperwork is filled out the first time, unless any medical information needs to be updated, you will not need to fill anything out after your first service with me! I will keep all your records on file.
Are there any conditions or situations in which I will be turned away for massage?
Yes. Please note the following conditions in which I would not medically be comfortable giving you a massage:
Within 6 weeks of any surgery in which you receive sedation of any kind.
Skin conditions (rashes, sores, wounds, stitches, etc.) I may be able to simply avoid the area but it depends on. the circumstance, you could message me ahead of time if you are concerned.
Any sickness even mild (nausea, fever, cold, infection, etc.) Please be considerate that I have contact with your skin and others. Plus, if you have any kind of fever, even mild, I can make your symptoms worse to get a massage.
Active outbreak of herpes or MRSA
If you are on any drugs or medications that alter your conciseness in any form as it is not safe at that point to receive massage. Your ability to judge pressure or pain can be affected.
If you have cancer or have had any cancer treatments in the last 2 years. I do not have the training to properly and safely give you a service. Please find a therapist that is training in Oncology Massage.
How do I book an appointment?
Click on the book appointment link HERE. That link will redirect you to my square booking website that explains the types of appointments you can book and what times I have available on my schedule. Online is the preferred way I’d like my clients to book as I am often not available to respond to calls or emails in a very timely manner, but if you are having issues booking online, please feel free to send me a message and i’ll see what I can do for you!
We can also pre-book your next appointment when we finish a service in person.
What can I expect when I arrive to the spa?
Please see the location section of my website here for any details you would need to know upon your arrival.
What are you current hours?
The current hours I will have open for taking clients are Thursdays from 5-9pm and Fridays from 10-4pm. I hope to open up more appointments in the future as i’m still working full time at the Hand & Stone Spa in Chanhassen as well, so if you can’t get in with my here you could also try to book with me in Chanhassen until I can open up more hours.
Please also feel free to reach out to me if you need an emergency service to address pain or something that needs to be addressed, I may be able to work something in for you outside my normal hours for an additional cost of $25. (please note, I may not always be able to work something out)
Do I have to book a prenatal massage if i’m pregnant?
Yes. If you are pregnant I would appreciate if you would pre-book your appointment as a prenatal so I can make sure I prepare the room for your specific needs. There is no up-charge for a pre-natal massage but I do need to know in order to take the extra care and precessions required during your service. You may also need to fill out a one time additional pre-natal massage form for me to have on file.
Please also note that you will need to wait at least 6-weeks after giving birth to return to me for a massage unless you have a specific doctors note that has cleared you for massage.
What do I do if your door is locked at the street level?
Hopefully this shouldn’t happen when we have an appointment as I personally unlock it for all my expected services ahead of time. But, if the door is locked when we are supposed to have a service, please call or text 952.373.1156 and let me know.
If you are arriving to the spa outside of service hours, both the door to the spa in the inner hallway and the street level door may be locked.
Can I bring my child to my appointment?
Possibly, but please use your judgement on this matter. I do have a waiting room that they are free to wait in that does have some coloring book options and a charger for a device they are free to use, BUT there will be no supervision of any kind and I am not responsible for anything that your child does or could get into during your service.
If your child becomes a nuisance of any kind to my space, other clients, or other units that use the space, you will be notified that they are not allowed to return in the future.
